WEF And School District of Waukesha Have a TV Partnership

The “Education Connection” (EdConnect) airing on cable channel 13 is collaboration between the Waukesha School District, the Waukesha Education Foundation, and the telecommunication students at Waukesha West High School. The EdConnect series, now starting its third season, showcases students, teachers, programs, local notables, and Community places of interest. The instructor at West, Ms. Chris Beck, works with the students in producing this well-received series of programs.

The students are engaged in all aspects of theses shows including filming, editing, and post-production. Several shows included student “talent” in front of the cameras as well. The productions are put together using software obtained with a grant from the WEF.

Last season featured the Waukesha Civic Theatre, the Waukesha Historical Museum, an interview with Waukesha’s Mayor, West’s trip to the National Academic Decathlon, the State Marching Band Competition, and many more shows. All EdConnect Shows highlight local education and its’ value to the greater Waukesha area.

The WEF is proud to partner with the School District in bringing a broad range of creative programming concepts to your local channel 13. Broader interest Community stories are also broadcast on the Waukesha Community ch. 25 as well as Time Warner Digital Cable ch 1111 – WI On Demand.

Watch for and enjoy these entertaining, student-driven productions!

“Education Connection" on Statewide TWC Channel 1111

Time Warner Cable has recognized the quality of programming from the Waukesha School Districts’ “Education Connection”, and now offers many of the segments to their State-wide digital cable audience on Channel 1111 – “WI On Demand”. Ms. Maria Tully from Time Warner proclaimed the shows …“Wonderful, we love them. The kids do such good work.” A benefit to the “WI on Demand” programming is its availability anytime.

This alliance started in 2005 as a sharing of ideas on the Waukesha student production contributions to the “Education Connection” (EdConnect). Time Warner kicked-off the partnership with the former Wisconsin Governor Lee Dreyfus interview being aired on Channel 1111 and, as they say in show biz - “The rest is history”.

The “EdConnect” team is proud to be a part of the Time Warner team and “WI On Demand” programming. And, what better way to communicate many of the great things occurring within our Waukesha Education Community then to expand the audience reaching from Green Bay to Kenosha.
