Bob Duckett died, at home with his family, following a valiant battle with cancer. Bob was a long time supporter of the Waukesha Public Schools, and over the past several years, had become very involved as a board member of the Waukesha Education Foundation. Bob's energy in this role was unceasing, and he was a significant contributor to the growth and momentum of the Waukesha Education Foundation. In 2005, Bob was the inaugural recipient of our "Community Partner in Education" award for his lifetime of contribution to public education, and never has an award been so deserved. For other members of the board, Bob was a mentor, a coach, a partner, and an inspiration. He leaves a tremendous legacy of philanthropy and community involvement, and we will miss him. Our sincere condolences go out to his wife, Roberta, and the rest of the Duckett family.
To honor Bob's legacy, an endowed fund benefitting Waukesha South High School has been established in his name. Contributions to this fund, which already exceed $10,000, will perpetually fund grants to deserving South High School initiatives in Bob's name. Friends of Bob are welcome to contribute to the fund by going to our donations page and selecting the Bob Duckett Memorial Fund.
